This week, Shred Station celebrated 15 years of business after a record-breaking year of sales. Over 100 of the company’s employees travelled across the UK to meet at the International War Museum in Duxford where they celebrated with a company photoshoot and the chance to take in some of our nation’s history.
This milestone is a major achievement for Shred Station, which started 15 years ago with just one shredding vehicle operating across Norfolk. The company now boasts a fleet of over 100 vehicles, employs 170 members of staff, and is the world’s largest independent shredding company.
“I’m really pleased with the company’s performance. Year on year, we have increased our turnover by around 30%. This is on track with where we wanted the business to be and puts us on a good growth trajectory to hit our targets in the coming years,” says Simon Franklin, Managing Director and founder of Shred Station. “I couldn’t have done it without the staff and customers”.
This news comes in the wake of many recent initiatives and accomplishments of the company, including:
• Having a record-breaking year of sales, surpassing £21.6 million in turnover in 2022.
• This year celebrating five years of being a CarbonNeutral® certified company.
• Planting 10,067 new trees in 2022 through staff fundraising and company activities.
Shred Station is also currently working to offset all historic emissions and will be the first shredding company in the UK to achieve lifetime carbon neutrality.
“After receiving several environmental awards in 2021, our annual turnover grew from c.£16.6 million, to c.£21.6 million in 2022. For 2023 we’re projecting around £26 million. Growth has been huge and our success proves that green businesses are the future” says Simon.
