WRAP to discuss progress with recycling industry

The Waste and Resources Action Programme will hold an open meeting next month in order to report on its progress and discuss its future plans.

Now in its second year, WRAP is keen for those either already involved in recycling, or who are interested in becoming involved, to hear about the company's progress towards the targets laid out in its business plan.

Chairman Vic Cocker said: “It's is very important to ensure that we maintain an open dialogue with the recycling sector and all those involved in sustainable development in a commercial, political or regulatory context.”

A government-funded independent company, WRAP was established in 2001 as part of the government's waste strategy 2000 with the aim of promoting sustainable waste management.

The meeting will be held on July 16in London, and will be an opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions and air their own views about WRAP and its current programmes.

Those wishing to attend are asked to contact Jill Burger at WRAP by telephoning 01295 819 907 or emailing jill.burger@wrap.org.uk
