Waste Recycling Group signs new operations director

Waste Recycling Group, the Doncaster-based waste management, energy and quarrying firm, has appointed John Bevan as its a new operations director.

Mr Bevan will take up the post, handling all of the company's operations from the Sutton Courtney office in Oxfordshire, on 1st Novemeber. He will take up a seat on WRG's executive committee, and will report directly to chief executive Nigel Sandy.

Previously, Mr Bevan worked a technical services director for Costain, the international engineering and construction group. Between 1993 and 1998 he was managing director of Costain Africa and later headed a successful integration merging four operating companies into one.

“The experience I gained at Costain is very relevant to my new role with Waste Recycling Group,” Mr Bevan said. “While I am not a waste management expert, the skills and experience I bring are complementary to the task Nigel Sandy has asked me to perform across Waste Recycling’s operating divisions.”

John was born and brought up in South Wales and still lives near Bridgend, with his wife and two teenage children. Educated in South Wales and at Southampton University, John is a Chartered Civil Engineer. He gained an MBA at Henley Management College.
