The company says the aim of the site is to promote home composting to wider audiences, while allowing customers in specific council areas to order goods 24 hours per day.
“What sets this site apart is the secure on-line ordering system.” Said managing director Jonathan Straight. “We are putting all of our current local authority campaigns onto the site, with more than 20 now up and running. All have their own home page and a secure E-commerce area where residents can order cut-price or Council subsidised home composters and accessories. Every offer has its own Internet address so that local residents only know about their own specifically priced offers.”
Straight will provide free Internet space for every new campaign it takes on. Each page has links both to and from the council web sites in order to encourage traffic in both directions.
“We can also take pre-bookings for our One Day Sales on-line,” added Mr Straight, “with householders even able to specify what time they would like to collect the goods”.
Over the past month the service has been piloted to Norfolk residents as part of a county-wide campaign the company is now running. The service has been very well received, with an encouraging number of householders placing their orders for composters and accessories on-line. Due to this proven success, the service has now been extended nationwide.
