The PRO 240 WAVE was launched in 2014 – and SSI Schäfer claims that the container is one of the lightest and strongest two-wheeled bins on the market. SSI Schäfer has also now launched 120 and 80-litre versions of the container.
According to the manufacturer, due to the ‘innovative’ multi injection system used to produce the bins it is possible to inject plastic at significantly more points in the mould, providing even distribution, no stress on the plastic and allowing the material to retain all of its natural strength.
The PRO WAVE is approved to both EN840 and the RAL GZ 951/1 quality standards.
Safety
In a statement the manufacturer said: “One of our main goals in designing the Pro Wave was to produce a product that was not only modern with an impressive service life in the recognised Schäfer Quality but also reduced the Health and Safety risks for collections operators.
“The SSI PRO 240 WAVE is approximately 2.5 kilos lighter than the average 240ltr container, each kilogram saved in the container weight considerably reduces the overall load on the operators. The ergonomic design enables optimum handing while the footstep provides ease of manoeuvring.“
According to SSI Schäfer, due to its lightweight design, an operative loading 1,000 bins per round over a single day will move approximately 2.5 tonnes per day less in weight compared to heavier containers.
