The company previewed the vehicle last week, at the RWM show. The 20-tonne JS20MH is targeted at public and private waste management companies handling municipal solid waste (MSW) in civic amenity sites, transfer stations, materials recycling facilities (MRFs) and also specialist material recycling companies.
The JS20MH features some design tweaks that, JCB believes, make it particularly suited to the waste and recycling sector. The undercarriage is a completely new design and features a centralised slew turret for increased all-round stability and uniform lift performance throughout the 360 degree rotation.
It also has a slew gearbox for greater accuracy while loading. JCB claimed that these design elements result in consistent operation and true material handler characteristics.
The machine is also set to be available with fixed or hydraulically raised cabs for loading containers to allow operators.
The machine features:
• A 123 horsepower engine
• The option of a 4m gooseneck dipper or a shorter 3m straight dipper
• A reversible fan to aid cooling
Cab guarding, front and rear light guarding and red and white chevrons on the excavator's rear end and an air-conditioned cab are all included as standard.
