“ReBattery” said that it is the “first in the world” to provide a global digital marketplace to connect companies with certified battery recyclers and repurposers.
“During my time at NEU Battery Materials, I saw first hand how difficult it is to manage end-of-life batteries – whether sourcing cost-effective recycling or identifying viable second-life options. We’ve built ReBattery to solve this,” said Alex Polglase, founder of the online platform.
“Transforming this process into a few clicks, our platform gives original equipment manufacturers (OEM) a single dashboard to manage their entire battery recycling operation—from getting competitive local quotes to tracking compliance across regions.
“While the lithium-ion battery market is growing exponentially, finding the right recycling or reuse partners remains complex and resource-intensive, especially for those managing battery stockpiles across multiple countries.”
ReBattery said that global companies often spend two to three months finding the right recyclers in each region they operate in, adding that it hopes to speed up this process.
The platform gives companies the option to compare technologies and pricing between pre-vetted recyclers.
The site is now live in “every major market” (see below) and allows companies to generate and track documentation required by their local jurisdiction.

Altilium recell store
Last year, technology group Altilium launched an online platform for end-of-life electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
The recell.store platform offers an interface for businesses in the UK looking to sell used batteries for recycling or second-life applications.
Once the battery packs are collected, they are dismantled and shredded before being processed to recover the critical battery metals, as well as graphite. The company said that this process has a 95% recovery rate.
Rod Savage, Altilium’s programme director of batteries and black mass, said at the time: “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards full battery circularity and a more sustainable transport future.
“Recell.store not only provides a practical solution for managing end-of-life EV batteries but also reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship. By facilitating the recycling and reuse of these batteries, we are helping to reduce waste and conserve valuable resources.
“By registering with recell.store, users can have full peace of mind knowing we will handle the collection of these hazardous materials and the recycling of the battery in a way that is safe and environmentally friendly.”
