Duston Oils handles over 10 million litres a year of used motor lubricants, industrial oils, and redundant fuel oils as well as a range of other wastes from the automotive and industrial sectors.
Enva explained that the business will be incorporated into its existing specialist waste business which provides a “complete solution for the collection of hazardous waste from garages, dealerships, car dismantlers, body shops, engineering, manufacturing, and industrial companies”.
Commenting on the acquisition Enva director, Michael Sneath, said: “The integration of Duston Oils into Enva’s current specialist waste operations will bolster the sustained organic growth of our oil recycling business, providing increased scale, operational efficiencies and additional customer value.
“It will also deliver additional technical capabilities to our portfolio enabling us to manage an even greater range of waste lubricating oils and waste solvents. We have always appreciated Duston Oils’ commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and we are delighted that their management team will remain in place to ensure a smooth transition.”
Facilities
Waste oil collected by Enva is transferred to licensed facilities where it is tested and processed into recovered fuels that are more sustainable and have lower overall lifecycle carbon emissions versus oil fuels manufactured from virgin resources.
Enva also “actively support the circular economy” by producing a used lubricant oil for re-refining back into base lubricants.
The move for Duston Oils comes on the back of similar acquisitions by the company in recent years. In 2019 it acquired Associated Reclaimed Oils (see letsrecycle.com story) and in 2021 it acquired Thompson Recycled Oil Limited’s waste oil business.
The acquisition of Duston Oils is the first since the announcment in April that Enva is set to be sold to a US private equity firm, after the UK-owned Exponent announced it has agreed to sell the company to Miami-based I Squared Capital (see letsrecycle.com story).
Dustan Oils
On its website, Dustan Oils say it was established in 1977 and is able to “correctly dispose of nearly all types of waste produced by the motor trade providing a one stop shop for all disposal requirements”.
The company also says it offers a waste mineral oil collection service “by tanker or in containers including used motor lubricants, industrial oils & redundant fuel oils”.
