The UK-based EfW operator said that it hopes the technology – supplied by Cognitive Business – will improve plant efficiency at the sites in Ferrybridge, Kemsley and Parc Adfer.
The Advanced Pattern Recognition (APR) technology will provide datasets to be analysed by enfinium in the hope of detecting hidden potential operational and maintenance issues earlier and with a higher degree of accuracy. The EfW operator said it also aims for the data to predict and prevent equipment failures, optimise maintenance schedules, and improve overall plant availability and reliability.
Chris Bebbington, group head of asset management at enfinium, said: “Our aim is to pioneer trailblazing technology in the EfW sector, adopting forward-thinking and innovative solutions that enable us to improve the performance of our day-to-day operations.
“Cognitive Business are industry-leading for advanced analytics and AI, and this partnership aligns with our vision to use AI and big data analytics to manage our facilities more effectively.”
The technology has been deployed successfully in other power generation sectors – including thermal generation, gas, and wind.
