The man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision with a refuse lorry.

Metropolitan Police confirmed it was called to Priors Field at around 7.30am on Tuesday following “reports of a collision”.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a refuse lorry had been in collision with one of the lorry crew,” the Met Police said in a statement. “The man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a single responder in a care were sent to assist. London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.
‘Serious incident’
In a statement Councillor Mik Sabiers, cabinet member for environment and highways at Ealing borough council, confirmed there had been a “serious incident” which resulted in the death of one of Amey’s employees.
Cllr Sabiers continued: “Collection crews were informed at the time of the incident and sent home. Services that are impacted will be resumed Saturday and we ask for patience and understanding from residents affected during this difficult time.
“The council extends its deepest sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.”
Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will be carried out in due course, Met Police confirmed.

“The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries,” the Police said. “No arrests have been made”.

When contacted by letsrecycle.com, James Haluch, managing director of Amey said: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm that one of our employees died earlier this week. We are unable to provide further details about this incident at present.
“However, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with their family, friends and colleagues affected. We are working with the police to establish how this tragic event has taken place.”
